NFPRO Gen-2 UPGRADE KIT

I bought the original Gen-1 NanoFoamer Pro through the Kickstarter campaign. It is a great compact milk frother that I regularly pack in my suitcase when travelling (many hotels have nespresso machines nowadays, but never a milk frother). Unlike most other milk frothers, you can "right size" your milk content for a single cup so that you're not constantly throwing excess milk down the sink.

It did, however, have some minor flaws. Notably the lid had to be on just perfectly and it quickly developed a milk burn mark on the inside base of the jug. The Gen-2 fixes both of those problems AND does more. As per other reviews, it still has a tendency to accumulate some milk "scum" at the bottom, but unlike the Gen-1 it doesn't burn into the base and it is easy to clean off when you rinse the jug after use (I use the little brush that came with the original pack).

Bottom line: if you bought the original NanoFoamer Pro, then you'll love the Gen-2 and the upgrade kit is perfect so that you don't have to buy everything again.

I have had the updated jug for 4 weeks and find that the frother magnet works much better and doesn't rev as much as in the previous model, which gives me more pleasure.

The duration of heating and foam formation, on the other hand, suited me better in the previous model. It takes much longer to froth the same amount - a shame.

Maybe I'm wrong, but the milk doesn't stick to the bottom as much when frothing and it's easier to clean.

In conclusion, for me the frequent revving of the frother magnet was the biggest problem in the old version and this seems to have been resolved.
